“So he said to me, ‘This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel:
‘Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,’ says the Lord Almighty.”

“I am going to send you what my Father has promised; but stay in the city until you have been clothed with power from on high.” Luke 24:49 (NIV)

In its core, the Sun fuses 620 million metric tons of hydrogen each second. Our sun converts 4.2 million tons of hydrogen into energy every second. Yet there are quite a few stars much bigger than our sun and their energy output makes the power generated by our sun seem pitiful by comparison.

When you talk about power there is nothing better than a short meditation on the power being generated by the countless stars out there in our galaxy and the billions of other galaxies we can observe in space. Such a consideration must lead us to conclude that the One Who made all of that is even more powerful than the incalculable power of those billions upon billions of suns we see every night.

Child of God, how can you doubt the Lord’s ability to supply all of your needs since He is able to produce such power through His creation? Your need for help to get you through another day will never exhaust the reserves the Lord has. He can supply all your needs through Jesus Christ. Come expectantly and come eager for the Lord’s intervention in your situation. He will never leave you or forsake you so come believing and your needs shall surely be met.

The Psalmist says in Psalm 27:14 (NIV)

“Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.”

Also, recall 2 Peter 3:9 (NIV)

“The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness.”

The wonderful words of David to his son Solomon are for us today as well. 1 Chronicles 28:20 (NIV)

“David also said to Solomon his son, ‘Be strong and courageous, and do the work.
Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord God, my God, is with you.
He will not fail you or forsake you until all the work…is finished.'”

We have the power of Almighty God available to us to strengthen us for our daily work. How can we doubt, how can we feel inadequate for our daily work seeing we are children of the most high God?

We have infinite resources at hand to assist us in living with our difficulties and trials. Be strong and courageous this day for the Lord your God is with you and shall certainly bless you as you seek to keep close to Him and ride out your personal storm. Go in the strength of the Lord and you shall most certainly prevail.
