Keeping You Updated On The Work You So Faithfully Support With Your Givings and Your Prayers. . .

Our Work . . .
Together Susan and I continue to meet the needs of hurting people who are without church affiliation or marginalized within their church community. We also minister to the needs of people in crisis; people who are weary and discouraged; and people who want to grow in their knowledge of Scripture and their relationship with the Lord.

So the work that you support with your giving’s and your prayers is a work that:

Helps the Hurting . . Refreshes the Weary . . Encourages the discouraged . . and Feeds the Hungry

We are so happy to be given the opportunity to serve the Lord in this way on your behalf.

Thank you for your love, support and encouragement.

PEOPLE IN PERSPECTIVE
As I review my calendar I note that I average 50 face-to-face contacts a month and innumerable phone calls and emails. Some extensive counselling goes on over e-mail with people removed from my location.

A Week in the Life of Gordon. . .

One week in July I counselled with a cancer patient, a Christian worker with church issues to resolve, a Christian worker with moral problems, four men I am discipling, a Christian couple to encourage them, a Christian man with serious life issues, and a couple who are anxious to reach out in their community with the Gospel.

Seeing Results . . .

Recently I prepared a series of sermons on the topic of heaven and preached them at a local assembly. The first Sunday morning there was a couple visiting who were unsaved. The sermon was the last seed sown before they bowed the knee that afternoon to Christ.

Recently I have preached another series on the seven words from the cross and felt myself making close application to the lost. If your church would stand in need of some preaching on either topic please contact us.

SUSAN . . .

- continues to teach a ladies Bible Study on Thursday mornings, this year in Ephesians, as well as speaking at coffee hours and conferences—with a request from a church in Michigan amongst them!

She is also enjoying the challenge of leading the Women’s Ministry Team at Oakridge, our home church. But as much as she enjoys these aspects of the ministry, it is the ladies that she meets with one on one, either face-face or on the phone each week, that she finds most rewarding.

ON A PERSONAL NOTE . . .
I enjoyed a week of holiday in August and spent time with my widower brother near Fenelon Falls. We made several day trips and talked much about old times. It was a time of relaxation. Sadly he passed away suddenly in September. I am grateful the Lord gave me such a good time with him.

To do my visitation and preaching I travel approximately 2300 kilometres a month. While travelling I like to listen to tapes and cd’s of good preaching and lectures from well-known scholars. — So my time is well spent on the road!
