From The Lips Of A Child

“But where can wisdom be found?
Where does understanding dwell?
Job 28:12 (NIV)

“But when the chief priests and the teachers of the law
saw the wonderful things he did
and the children shouting in the temple courts,
‘Hosanna to the Son of David,’ they were indignant.
‘‘Do you hear what these children are saying?’ they asked him.
‘Yes,’ replied Jesus, ‘have you never read,
“From the lips of children and infants you, LORD,
have called forth your praise”’?”
Matthew 21:15-16 (NIV)

“People were bringing little children to Jesus
for him to place his hands on them,
but the disciples rebuked them.
When Jesus saw this, he was indignant.
He said to them, ‘Let the little children come to me,
and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God
belongs to such as these. Truly I tell you,
anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God
like a little child will never enter it.’
And he took the children in his arms,
placed his hands on them and blessed them.”
Mark 10:13-16 (NIV)

She was explaining to her 4 year old daughter that she was going to be away for a few days and that she would miss her little girl very much. The beautiful little blonde haired angel took her mother’s face in her hands and said, “Don’t worry mommy God will be with you.”

What a beautiful lesson on the faithful presence of the Lord!

Sometimes wisdom can be found in the mouths of children. Certainly, little ones are able to understand the most basic and profound truths of Scripture. This is why I accept the fact that children can become genuine Christians.

Reader, have you become like a trusting child, and do you rely on the sovereign Lord as your Saviour? Do you look to Him as your loving, attentive heavenly Father? Do you talk to Him daily, even many times a day?

Do you see His many blessings that He daily showers on you? Do you have the uncomplicated pure faith of a little child? And, like that golden haired angel in today’s story, when tragedy comes knocking can you say with her, “Don’t worry… God will be with [me],”?

Today, may the Lord grant you the assured faith of a little child so that you may rise above the difficulties facing you, move mountains, give glory to the Lord, and find yourself more than conquerors {super conquerors} (Romans 8:37) through Him Who loved us and gave Himself for us.
